Winter is Here

It's only October 20th and I think I can safely say that Winter has arrived here in Michigan. The temperature doesn't really get past the mid 50s anymore and right now at midnight it is 33 degrees out and it's been that cold since at least 9pm.
Man, do I miss Tennessee. It's still in the mid to high 70s there and currently it's 69 degrees there. In Tennessee when Spring arrived it would only be about 2 or 3 weeks long and then the summer weather would arrive despite it only being early April.
Here apparently Fall is the short season. It last about 2 weeks.
I am glad my winter parka from L.L. Bean arrived today. It's warmth rated to -40 below. All I need is a good pair of snow boots and a couple of pairs of cold weather shoes/non-snow boots and I'll be set. Actually that's not true. I need some winter clothes b/c I haven't bought any since the Fall of 1997 which was in preparation for what was my last Winter in the northeast.

I had a friend buy me a powerball ticket. Maybe I'll win and I'll charter a jet every weekend and stay in the South. For those of you who were thinking I'd quit law school if I won powerball - you must be smokin' crack. After what I went through to get to law school I'm not going anywhere.
